Workshops

The Big Picture

In this two-day design workshop, you will learn how to create an original quilt, using a photograph for inspiration. Learn curved piecing techniques, easy machine appliqué methods, and how to use textile inks for special effects. Two days.

Machine Quilting

Yes, you can quilt on your standard-sized sewing machine. Start with the basics—needles, threads, machine feet, machine tension. After you gain confidence by quilting straight lines, I’ll teach you how to overcome the fear of free-motion quilting. One day.

Painted Fabric

Use permanent fabric paints to make your own one-of-a-kind pieces for those special projects. You’ll leave this class with a total of two yards of unique fabric, hand-painted by you! One day.

Paper Piecing

Everything turns out perfectly and all you have to do is sew on the printed line. You’ll love the results. After you learn a couple of tricks and get in the paper-piecing groove, you’ll want to do more of these projects. One day.

 Thread Painting

You will love the results of this remarkably simple method. Lots of fun and a great way to gain confidence with your free-motion stitching. Your class project will begin with a photo that is printed on fabric. One day.

Make a Poppy With EnFUSEiasm™

When I started using my appliqué pressing sheet, I discovered a whole new world of quicker quilt-making. Make a poppy (or a poinsettia) using this easy fusible appliqué process.

If you desire a shorter workshop for your group, or a longer, more in-depth class, let’s discuss a customized class to suit your group’s needs. My lecture fee is $250, plus travel expenses. Class fees range from $25 to $75 per person, with minimum enrollments required. Some classes have a supply fee or require the purchase of a pattern.
