Carol has been quilting since the mid-eighties, and began designing original patterns almost immediately. Growing up in a household where sewing was encouraged (her father paid her to make her own clothes), she embraced quilting somewhat fearlessly. In 2001 she decided to quit her real job (legal assistant) and spend more time doing what she loved. Carol went to work at Quilt Country in Lewisville, Texas, where she began designing patterns for Sandy Brawner, her friend and owner of the store. In 2004, she began publishing patterns under her own company name, OCarol. Since that time she has published lots of quilt patterns, lectured and taught at many quilt guilds and other venues, had her work featured in museums, quilt shows, books and magazines. In 2011 she purchased a longarm machine and in her spare time (chuckle) she quilts for her customers in her studio at Quilt Country.
